Today, on his tumblr, Notch announced that Jens Bergensten (a.k.a @jeb_) has been lead developer on Minecraft officially for a whole day now. Notch says that he is stepping down to start working “on some new project.” Whatever this new project turns out to be, I’m sure we’ll all be happy for this change in management.
Jeb was the driving force behind redstone repeaters, wolves, pistons, and making spiders climb. He knows what he’s doing, and even Notch says:
“I’m amazed at how much in synch we two are when it comes to how to design the game. And when we don’t agree, we discuss it and something much better comes out at a result. He’s truly a great person to work with, and I feel very confident handing over the leadership of Minecraft to him.”
