What I Hope to See in the Wii U
Since the original release in 2006, the Nintendo Wii has been running strong with new ways to game. It brought balancing interaction with the introduction of the Wii Balance Board and massively interactive gameplay with the renowned Wii Remote. Now that almost six years have gone by, the Wii is in need of a new upgrade. I’m not talking about an upgrade to its graphics and processing power, but instead, new and interesting ways to enjoy playing video games. Nintendo seems to have a way to bring those enjoyable features for gamers, and I hope to see that they can do it again for the Wii U.

Update: The Great Minecraft Build-Off is Still Happening.
It’s been weeks since anybody has seen or heard anything about The Great Minecraft Build-off, but never worry my dear friends. After much thought and consideration, Season 3 is finally moving forward with a new day and time, and a couple of changes to the format of the competition.
Change 1: We are dropping the team build-off in favor of the 1v1 style we originally used. This is the most important change as it requires all current registered contestants to reconfirm their position in the bracket. If you are unsure of your status in the build-off, submit a new application as soon as possible. Please hurry, cause slots are filling up soon.
Change 2: We are increasing the duration, returning to the original 2 hour format of the contest. While the qualifier rounds will still be an hour in duration (2 back-to-back builds), the “Epic 8″ builds will be 2 hours in length. In addition, we will be announcing build topics at least 1 hour in advance to allow for additional preparation and hopefully, a better build altogether.
Change 3: The build-off will be streamed live on Friday nights, instead of Saturdays, at 8pm EST. We understand that some of our overseas competitors will have problems with this, but we wanted to accommodate as many people as possible, and we understand that not everyone will be satisfied.

MLG: First Winter Arena This Weekend
Finally, the time all of you PC gamers out there have been waiting for; the first Winter Arena for StarCraft 2 will be held this weekend in New York! This event will take place from the 24th-26th. The world’s top StarCraft 2 players competing for $26,000 in prizes, as well as pool placement and travel to the Winter Championships in Columbus, Ohio, at the end of March.
Here is the not-so-good news: For this season the streams will all be pay-per-view (they will cost $19.99 and can be found here). MLG has thrown in a loophole to all of those Gold members that paid $29.99 for what was supposed to grant “Access to the MLG Premium Streaming Experience during Championship Events” according to mlg.com. I suppose it was OK of them to do this considering they did not say “all.”

These top 50 game endings were voted on by 13,519 “fans of gaming.” Coming in at number one is none other than Call of Duty 7: Black Ops.
