So, one of the things I did when I first set up my Wii U yesterday was transfer all my Wii data over. My Wii’s disc drive has been out-of-commission for awhile now, meaning I haven’t been able to play a single Wii disc-based game in over six months now. It was about time I gave it a new life.
What I didn’t see coming was the amount of depth and thought Nintendo put into the Wii to Wii U data transfer animation. A hundred Pikmin will convey your save and shop data from one system to the other! There are also lots of cute little touches, such as “towers” that strongly resemble upright Wii systems, “ventilation fans” that look like they belong on the back of some piece of computer hardware, and lots of 0s and 1s. It was a really pleasant surprise.
